Addition of Faculty Senate Representative to Computer and Library Committees

The text of this resolution with accompanying change in the bylaws of the University Council, as approved by University Council, is as follows:

Whereas the Faculty Senate is well organized to provide avenues and procedures whereby communications within the University may flow freely, fully, and systematically, and

Whereas one function of the Faculty Senate is to participate in the formulation of academic and educational policies which concern more than one college, division, or center, and

Whereas the operations and development of the University's computer facilities and libraries not only merit free, full, and systematic communications but also concern more than one college, division, or center, and

Whereas at the present time the Faculty Senate is not represented on the Computer Committee or the Library Committee,

Therefore be it resolved that the Bylaws of the University Council be amended as follows.

Amendment I.

Proposed Amendment to Article III, Section C, of the University Council Bylaws.

To Amend Article III, University Committees, Section C, Computer Committee, Membership, to add the words "One Representative from the Faculty Senate...Nominated by Faculty Senate."

Amendment II.

Proposed Amendment to Article III, Section H, of the University Council Bylaws.

To Amend Article III, University Committees, Section H., Library Committee, Membership, to add the words "One Representative from the Faculty Senate...Nominated by Faculty Senate"
