Policy Memorandum No. 31b

Recommended by the Commission on Undergraduate Studies
Approved by University Council: January 18, 1982
Approved by the President: January 18, 1982
Effective: Immediately

This Resolution revises the statement which appears in the University undergraduate catalog concerning the University's desire to serve students of the Commonwealth of Virginia while admitting qualified out-of-state students. This revised statement will appear in place of the current language in the undergraduate catalog specifying out-of-state undergraduate enrollments as a percentage of total undergraduate enrollment. The revised statement reads as follows:

"Admission will be offered to applicants who show evidence of ability, good character, the proper academic preparation, willingness to study, and a desire for a university education. Qualified out-of-state residents are encouraged to apply; however, special consideration is given to applicants from the Commonwealth of Virginia."
