Revision of Undergraduate Catalog Statement Regarding Admission of Students in the Arts

The adopted Resolution reads as follows:

"In the fields of art, music, and theatre arts, special consideration for admission will be given to students with exceptional talents as determined by portfolio or audition."

This resolution, which is to be incorporated in the undergraduate catalog section on admissions, was approved with the understanding that it calls for additional standards and is in no way to be interpreted as an effort to dilute current admission standards. The policy is designed to recognize exceptional artistic talent in the context of competitive admission.
