Approved by the President: April 23, 1979
Under this policy change, a Master's Degree candidate is allowed to change from the thesis to the non-thesis option (or vice versa) once during his/her program with the explicit approval of the department head and the major professor.
This change is intended to provide greater flexibility for Master's Degree candidates as they pursue their academic programs. Previous policy, which prohibited graduate students from changing from thesis to non-thesis options (or vice versa), was considered unduly restrictive. This does not apply to doctoral candidates.
